Personal data

The only personal data we collect is for the newsletter: your first name, last name and email address, which you give us voluntarily through the sign-up form. So that we can prove your consent, we also record the IP address, date and time of your sign-up and of its confirmation (double opt-in by email).

This data is used solely to send you the newsletter. It is never sold or shared. We keep it for as long as you are subscribed and delete it on request. Every email contains an unsubscribe link.

HaiSoft SARL is the data controller. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to receive a copy of it: just write to ownyourstack@haisoft.net. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Audience measurement

We measure the site's audience with our own cookieless statistics, and with nothing else: no Google Analytics, no advertising or social media trackers.

Because these statistics use no cookie and do not identify you, they do not require your consent.

Cookies

The site only uses strictly necessary, technical cookies, so there is no cookie banner:

NamePurposeDuration
oys_versionRemembers the version you chose (mobile or desktop), only if you use the links at the bottom of the page1 year
oys_editorKeeps our editors signed in to the editorial back office (never set for readers)30 days

Your browser also stores, without ever sending them to the site, your choice of light or dark mode and whether you have closed the tip on installing the app.

You can delete or block these cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site remains fully readable without them. To find out more: ico.org.uk.

External links

Links to other websites go through a redirect address (/go/…) which lets us count clicks, without any personal data.
