Everything Smart Home joins Works with Home Assistant: three local-first presence sensors
Everything Presence Lite, One and Pro, the mmWave sensors from a UK family business, now carry the Works with Home Assistant badge. All three run ESPHome and work without the cloud.

On 27 October 2026, Home Assistant announced that Everything Smart Home has become its newest Works with Home Assistant partner. The company is a British family business founded by Lewis Barclay and his father Dave, an electrical engineer. Lewis started out as a Home Assistant YouTube creator in 2020, and the company joined the Home Assistant Creator Network in 2022. It also sells official Nabu Casa hardware.
The three sensors
| Sensor | Sensing | Connection | Aimed at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Everything Presence Lite | mmWave radar; tracks up to three people across four user-defined zones | Wi-Fi | A more affordable entry point |
| Everything Presence One | mmWave presence, PIR motion, temperature, humidity and light | Wi-Fi | An all-in-one room sensor |
| Everything Presence Pro | Two mmWave radars, PIR motion and light | Ethernet with 802.3af Power over Ethernet | Wired, professional-style installs |
The announcement does not give prices; they are on the company’s own shop pages.
What the badge means
Works with Home Assistant is the project’s certification for hardware, and it is deliberately demanding. According to the announcement, the devices were tested by the Home Assistant team for local control, privacy and sustainability, and Everything Smart Home has committed to long-term support and firmware updates for all three. Certification requires the expected Home Assistant functionality, fully local operation without a cloud service, and continued long-term support. Testing was done over standard Wi-Fi.
The sensors also carry the Made for ESPHome badge: they run ESPHome out of the box, can be controlled fully without opening the case or soldering, and their code is publicly available. They talk to Home Assistant directly over your local network, and they can act as Bluetooth proxies to extend your Bluetooth range.
Why presence sensors matter
A PIR motion sensor only notices movement, so lights switch off while you sit still reading. Millimetre-wave radar can detect a person who is present but motionless, which is what makes “lights on while someone is in the room” automations actually work. Local-only operation also means these sensors keep working when your internet does not, and nothing about when you are home leaves the house. If you want remote access, it is optional through Home Assistant Link, the service formerly known as Home Assistant Cloud; we covered the change in our article on the renaming.
Part of a pattern
This is the second certification announcement this month, after LEDVANCE’s Matter-over-Wi-Fi lights. With Community Day on 7 November, covered in our preview, it has been a busy autumn for the ESPHome and certification side of the project.
